The section was formed in 1985 so that retired members could take part in regular matches against similar sections in other golf clubs.
The name chosen for our section is Retired Gentlemen Section, generally known as the R.G.S.
The section has a committee consisting of a chairman, a match secretary and a treasurer
.
As well as the inter-club matches the section also has several Major Trophies which are competed for annualy.
In the winter months a series of other competitions are held, mainly Turkey Trots in which the prizes are meat vouchers to be exchanged at a local butchers shop.
